Please add my name to the Brannen Reunion notifications. Member of Eula Brannen Swinson family.

    • Will do! Next year the reunion will fall on Sept 24. That’s a long time to wait, especially when there are so many research projects to do. I’m beginning to think some of us could have a working session next spring at the Statesboro Library or at the GA Archives building in Morrow to look into some of these topics and prepare reports.

Please email any info to me at my email address above on the 2015 Brannen Reunion. The last one I attended was when I was a small child. I’d love to come to another one. I am the daughter of Jack Brekinridge Brannen, Jr. (Deceased) of Statesboro and I have retired from 15 years as a Foreign Service Officer of the U.S. State Department. Now living in Statesboro, I would love to reconnect with the Brannens in this area. Looking forward to your reply. Many thanks, Nancy

    • Hi, thanks for contacting us. Now that the reunion is over, I have time to get this webpage up and running. I don’t see Jack Brekinridge Brannen in our database, but I see several Jack B Brannen’s in the 20th Century census data. Can you give us a few more details as to grandparents and great grandparents? Was he the one married to someone named Laura?
      Thanks – Randy Brannen

  3. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I’m a descendant of Thomas Alexander Brannen. My great-grandfather was Edmund Alexander Brannen. My father was also Dr. Edmund Alexander Brannen, Obstetrician/Gynecologist in Macon, where I am also from. Will be arriving with my twin cousins, Julia Brannen Riley and Alice Brannen McDonald. See you on Saturday.

    • It was great to meet you! Let’s stay in touch. One thing I hope to do in your neck of the woods (Macon) is to visit Mercer University where they have an extensive Baptist Church archive. Most of the early Brannen’s were Primitive Baptists, so I hope to find new information there. Some of it has been microfilmed and placed in the Ga Virtual Vault, but the photography was poor on many slides. We need to look at some of the originals.

but instead of that, this is wonderful blog. A fantastic read.
    I will certainly be back.
